Mountmaking consists of a wood, metal, plastic, or fabric armature that helps hold up art and artifacts for display, storage, and/or travel. 

After studying an object to find the most structurally safe area to put a mount, the mount is designed to be as discreet as possible. Using archival methods and materials, the object is safely mounted to conservation and preservation standards.
